You can restrict what you view by:

• geography (click on the Los Angeles or National links)
• magnitude (you can click on the numbers...the numbers correspond to the minimum magnitude to include on the map)
• latest "x" number of results...just add rpp=<number> where the number corresponds to the maiximum number of the latest earthquakes you'd like to see

On the map, you may see up to 3 different colored pushpins:

1. blue: magnitude less than 3
2. yellow: magnitude of less than 6 but greater than or equal to 3
3. red: magnitude greater than or equal to 6
